The Vegetable Trials at La Conner Flats
goals are to:
- identify the best available varieties and cultural practices for growing vegetables in the Puget Sound maritime climate. This means finding varieties that emerge and grow successfully in cool soils, and varieties that have a range of maturities from early to late. Each year, We intensively investigate three to five kinds of vegetables and evaluate a wide range of other vegetable varieties. Trial results are disseminated through field days, presentations and on our website.
- Serve as a catalyst in bringing the vision of "farm to table" to fruition.
